Yen graduated from Washington State University US with a bachelor degree in civil engineering and a master degree from University of Glasgow UK. Yen then extended his academic career at Manchester Business School conducting doctoral research on the subject of foreign direct investment and marketing channel management in China. In 1997 Yen took up the employment in London with I-F Consulting acting as a senior management consultant providing strategic planning for Fortune 500 companies worldwide, incl. British Telecom, Bank of Scotland, Motorola, HP, and IBM etc. In 2001 Yen co-founded London Asia Capital PLC which provided fund management and investment banking services focusing on capital opportunities across Europe and China. Yen then returned to set up LAC’s Asia presence in Taipei and Beijing which was named TCIB. TCIB was awarded the top 10 performing fund manager in China in 2009/10 for its performance on CITIC Qianjing Trust Fund III. As for personal recognition Yen was named the top 10 Manager in Taiwan for his role as a general manager at TCT Industrials where he served for 10 years and worked his way from deputy GM to GM to today’s president. In academia Yen has been serving as a visiting professor at Tung Hai University and NCNU of Taiwan and Peking University and CASS of China where he lectures in investment and marketing subjects and supervises master and phd theses.
